Has anyone autocrossed their SR3? Wondering what the experience was like and what ratio gear choice is best. There is a great autocross at an old abandoned naval base in central CA where a large portion of the runway and taxiways are used.

I haven’t tried it, but I think there will be some challenges.  These cars have so much cooling capacity I think you will have trouble getting the engine in the proper operating range.  It usually takes a 2 or 3 laps to get everything in the proper range. An oil pre-heater could help.  Also unless you have some sort of tire warmers the tires won’t be sticky enough.  Perhaps there is another tire that would come up to temp faster.

Hi Charley, Spring Mountain said the Michelins that are on the car should come up to temp quickly if it is warm out. I was thinking about letting it idle or holding it under 3k to warm up as much as possible and then driving it for a gentle lap with the coolers taped up.

I’m looking forward to hearing how it worked.  Keep an eye ou your oil pressure and keep it under 100 psi.
