Gobble,

I just had an annual done on my car last fall and they put it in P2.  As it's a 1500 they told me it would need a restrictor plate.

No one produces one so I'm just going to run it in ASR.  From what I've been told Radicals aren't competitive in P2 anyway.  By design?  🙂

If you don't have a log book and haven't had an annual yet make sure to let them know the chassis has an FIA number on it.  It'll save time as they don't need to go through the usual process to check the cage etc as it's already approved by FIA.

Hope this helps.  What region are you running in?

Thanks. I don't plan to run anything competitive, at least for now. My neighbor is interested in having his son drive it in SCCA events at some point. I'd be in whatever region you are, since Menomonee Falls is about 10 minutes from my house.

Not competitive meaning Radicals are too slow? But you need a restrictor plate?

From what I've been told we're a little under powered and a little overweight compared to most P2 cars.  The 1500 must be to close to being competitive so they required the restrictor plate.  After talking with several different radical groups they didn't know about the plate.  Even tech at SCCA wasn't entirely sure but thought it was the case? I'm just going to show up without it.  If they want to put me in ASR or something that's fine.  Like you I'm just looking to have some fun out there and reconnect with friends.

Really nice having someone so close that has one.  We're in the Milwaukee region for SCCA, central division.  We'll be running a lot of non-racing, just driving events around the region (Blackhawk, Road America and Gingerman typically)

The wife and I are going to the "Harvey West memorial Day Double Divisional" 5/23 and 5/24.  It would be great to have another Radical to run with.  https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/harvey-west-memorial-day-double-divisional-brainerd-intl-raceway-scca-740161

If you ever need help with the car let me know.  I'm basically on Silver Spring and Pilgrim Rd in Menomonee Falls.

It sounds like you live near my sister. She's in Creekwood Highlands just across Silver Spring from Kohls. I'm just behind Johnny Manhattans in Richfield.

You're a bit more advanced than me. I'm doing a two day school with Francesco at Team Stradale the first week of June. I need to learn how to drive this thing.

Did you do a bead seat? My first attempt on Saturday was a bit of a fail. I plan to take another shot this week with the medium size kit instead of the small.

Just down the street, we're in creekwood crossing.

I wish I had to do a bead seat. LOL  I fit pretty well without it.  My wife is only 100lbs so we're thinking about doing one for her.  So far we're just using extra seat padding left over from previous race cars.

We were actually at Stradale on Saturday picking up our car.  If you were there late morning I had the Black F350 with the trailer and black SR3.  They really did a nice job.  Rebuilt the engine, trans, GPU and a bunch of small stuff.
