2007 SR3, paddle shifters installed. This is just a slow speed video of a few shakedown laps on my newly purchased car. Watch at 1:08 and every other lap in this same spot. Upshifting from 4th to 5th it misses the gear and just revs the car. We figured out later that at lower RPM's this didn't happen.

Does anyone have thoughts on what the problem might be?

And yes I grabbed the wrong wire for RPM's so the tach display isn't working properly.

I'm back in business!

It turns out there is a shop in East Troy, WI called Gemini Technologies that used to run Michael Jordan's Suzuki motorcycle race team. And they're less than an hour from my house! They know the Hayabusa engine inside and out, so I got a very nice education from them on the internals of the engine and how everything works. They were able to point out everything that Radical did to the engine to make it different from a standard Suzuki engine. In the time I spent in their shop I was very impressed with their knowledge of the engine and the other work they do there.

Anyway, the dogs on my gears were worn. The gearbox had to be removed from the engine and sent off to a rebuilder that does the work for the Vance and Hines race teams. Many of the parts were replaced and some were repaired. I have a full part-by-part invoice if anyone is interested. The price for the repair wasn't too bad...

The engine is back in the car and all seems to be well based on just the shakedown drives I did on some country roads near my house. I have a track day coming up at Road America on Sep 25 which will be the real test.

Hard to believe I have someone with that much knowledge of this engine so close to my house. I'd also have 100% confidence they could do a refresh when the time comes, as they've had this and the 1000cc Suzuki engine apart many times and have many of the parts already on site.

If you don't need a dealer seal, this would be a good place to go to save a few bucks.

I have the same/simular issue on my 2012 SR3 RS. The car wont upshift when I push the paddle and the car just revs insted and I have to push the paddle one more time to get in next gear. This happens often when harder driving and on every gear.

I have checken the paddle function in Lifemon and if I push the upshift paddle say 25 times one of this the shift do not regestred in lifemon. I have orderd a new wiring loom for the paddles becuse it looken worn.

Have any one have hade this issue?
