Hey guys -- has anybody out there ever (successfully) replaced the O-rings in the SR8 dry sump pump train? While the engine remains in the car? SMR tells me that it's possible, but doesn't recommend it. I'm battling oil leaks between each of the pump stages:

Spring Mountain is going to replace all of the o-rings for me. They seemed quite alarmed at the prospect of me replacing them myself, and so off goes the assembly today. The gear drive front cover o-ring isn't. It was an o-string, lol.

Glad to hear they are taking care of you.  O-strings just don’t work as well as o-rings 😉

Spring Mountain says they need to rebuild the whole pump assembly with 6 new rotors and one new body. Oh well... that gearbox rebuild just got put off another month.  🙂

Ouch!  Well at least you know it will be done right.

Yes, this will reduce some anxiety when I get this car to the track this fall. Dan had warned me that a typical rebuild of the dry sump system would entail replacement of the rotors. Maybe this will reduce the refresh cost of the engine when I send it in next summer...
