I'm working to get my SR8 back together now that I have a running car (kind of) after my fall project. Today I put the seat back in and was double-checking its position. As I worked the pedals I realized my feet weren't getting tangled up with the steering column like they used to.

That's because I had removed what I thought was standard equipment: a raised floor under the pedals which housed two pedal position sensors (which I'm not using any more with the MoTeC ECU since I have the same information from new sensors).  I measured the height of this "sub-floor" and it's 40 mm!  I was going to keep the sensors just-in-case, but after I realized how much foot room I lost, out they came.

Anybody else have pedal position sensors (throttle and brake) and a raised floor under the pedals?

That looks like an owner added feature to me.  On my SR3 I got throttle position from the Throttle position sensor on the throttle bodies, and brake sensing was through brake pressure sensors.  There wasn’t any sensors in the pedal area.

Right. My car had those sensors too (even before my upgrades). I agree it looks to be an owner upgrade, or perhaps a shop upgrade here in the US. If you look at the bottom side, the label that's on the aluminum floor is what comes on bulk metal you buy at Home Depot or Ace.

Maybe that owner had tiny feet.  ?

I'll concur with that being an addition.  My pedal box sits right on the floor, not on any sort of platform.

Previous owner must have had tiny feet!
