Has anyone found a source for the custom race ramps that Reverse Logic used to provide?  I called Race Ramps and they said they do not make anymore custom ramps.  And all the stock ramps wont work for a Radical.
I called Fred at Reverse Logic and he said he has sold the company and does not make them anymore.

The part number is RLL-TR-114-2

I was curious if anyone has found ramps that will work for a low car with a splitter like a Radical?

Thanks!

I think this would work well for a Radical.  ITEM #RR-TR-11-2.  The splitter will be fine even if it rubs on the ramps a little.

I got the last custom set made by RR from Reverse Logic in 2020 (2-pc 110" Progressive Incline Race Ramps
Trailer Ramps w/1.5" deep step).

@meatman ... looks like you have a similar trailer to mine... have you ever though of jacking the front off the tow-ball to lower the rear ramps.. makes the whole thing a lot lower at the rear... no need for the wooden blocks under the trailer...

Had a similar issue - the freight to get the Race Ramps to Tasmanian was horrendous... so I made my own (steel frame, aluminium propeller plate deck and they fold to fit into the trailer...

@rjbender yeah, actually I do. I don't remove the hitch from the truck but I raise it up quite a bit.

My trailer is 36ft long so what height I do get out of the front makes a huge difference in the rear

I have these ramps and they work great for my Radical.  If I drive the rear wheels of my tow vehicle up onto some blocks I can get the car on and off with zero scraping.  If I load with everything flat the splitter touches a bit on the way into the trailer, but it doesn't seem to cause any harm so that's how I've been doing it.

@davidf

i actually found some of the discontinued progressive ramps made by Reverse logic.  A friend had a set and let me use them.  No scraping on the splitter.  They work flawlessly.  I may take measurements off of them and make a pair like Rob has done.  If anyone would like a copy of these plans let me know.  Happy to send Thanks everyone for the help.  Appreciated

@schneller …I think you’ll find my design is extremely close to the Reverse Logic ‘progressive’ ramps. From memory (it was 6 years ago) I used some information from their website, along with some info direct from Fred (the bloke who owned the Company from memory?) to basically copy their profile.

In terms of the Reverse Logic Race Ramps... here is a spreadsheet that I was given - I think it used to be available on their website... if you take some time and learn how it works it is really quite clever... it worked for all their different designs, you put in some data based on your car and your trailer (how high the rear end of the trailer is, etc).

It is in inches (You Yanks can thank me later😂)

I've modified the sheet quite heavily as I originally had a tilting trailer and basically modified the sheet to treat the whole trailer deck like another (longer) section of the ramp... you can see the blue shaded cells - these refer to the length of the Reverse Logic Ramps on their own... any red shaded cells are my trailer deck... so ignore them.

'Ramp X Value' or the blue shaded cells - these are the length coordinates of the ramp in inches, with 0 being the thin end of the ramp.

'Ramp Height' - is the corresponding height in inches of the ramp at the Ramp X value on the cell above

So basically you can see the 'shape' and length of each ramps designs....

The red line in all the charts is the clearance at the front lip for your car and trailer combo on each ramp design.... A negative number basically meaning that the splitter is touching and starting to tend to lift the front of the car.  Theoretically you want there to be a positive clearance, or zero at a minimum the whole way up....

I'm pretty sure the data in here isn't correct for my Radical and certainly not for my Brian James Race Sport Trailer.. so please make sure to check it... I was doing this BEFORE I had even sat in a Radical... leave aside owning one, as I was trying to work out whether my 'new car budget' needed to include a new Race Trailer or not.... in the end I bought an enclosed trailer anyway... so all the data in here wasn't relevant.

Hopefully it is of some use to you... and has the exact dimensions of the Reverse Logic Ramps included if you take the time to work it out.

@davidf We use this same set up in our 20ft Stealth trailer.  We did add about 24 inched of 1/4 plywood in the trailer for the front wheels to ride on to prevent the car from bottoming out when pulling it in.

Here is another view of the measurements for the Race Ramps.

after buying my 1st set of racing ramps for our other trailer I didn't want to spend that much money again on ramps. I had an old sheet of 1/4" plywood laying around and built my own ramps. I figured the approach angle I needed to get the car up the ramps with out dragging the splitter or diffuser. the ramps easily hold the weight of our NC MX5's. the total cost to build was the cost of the screws and the paint. we have been using them now for 6 years and they are hiding up fine they don't weigh that much and store in the trailer easily.

Since race ramp don’t sell those custom race ramp (low 2.8 degree progressive rise) anymore.

Here is another modification that works with my current race ramp using left over race deck floor tiles from my garage floor project.

The race ramp is about 5.5 feet long with 5 inch rise (I think).

A few trial and error of placement of those incline transition tiles made it works. Zip tied all together after final design (placement of incline tile transition)

I don't have a definitive answer yet but I've been working with (read: nagging) Race Ramps over the past several weeks to make me the RLL-TR-114-2 ramps.

If they can do it, how many others would be interested in purchasing these progressive ramps? If we have a group they may be more willing to do a limited production run of them. I'm also waiting to hear back on pricing.
