Right -- if it's the same gearbox that's in the SR8, then that setup will be limited by the gearbox. I was hoping they'd come up with something with a bit more meat on its bones, so to speak.

Spring Mountain says they need to rebuild the whole pump assembly with 6 new rotors and one new body. Oh well... that gearbox rebuild just got put off another month. 🙂

Wow -- that kind of wear doesn't seem normal... I'd keep digging and inspect the gearbox internals to make sure all is well there. That much wear tells me that the gearbox isn't shifting very well and...

Thanks Charley! Just fyi, I have a never-used never-mounted set of rear Avon slicks. Age of the tire is unknown, but likely more than 4 years. If somebody wants them, make me an offer!

Have a look in the older Mechanic's guides. I know one of them had Avon setup information. The site's resource library seems to be down right now, though.
