Hi Brad,

It is indeed a OEM Suzuki crank sensor and one from any year will fit.

Unfortunately Suzuki only sell the sensor complete with the alternator windings so you need to buy this complete assembly. Part number 32101-24F10 is for the Gen 1 version and that is the cheapest of them (in the UK anyway).

You will need to gently cut the wires out of the rubber boot, this will make sense when you see it, then cut the crank sensor plug off to install it into the V8. Once installed you will then need to fit a new plug.

The sensors do not often go wrong so make sure you check all of the wiring or there could be a chance that there is in an excessive amount of heat or debris that has gone through the sensor due to its location.

You will need to remove the clutch and flywheel to do this so make sure you have an alignment tool and torques etc before you start.

Let me know if you need any further information.

thanks for the reply dan, its definitely a crank sensor. once we removed the transmission we saw a bolt came loose from the throw out bearing and got loged into the crank sensor and broke it in half. we took the part number you gave us and ordered a new sensor (should be here tomorrow) i will let u know how it goes.

thanks dan, i will let you know how it goes. little bummed to see a bolt come loose from the throw out bearing. specially since the car was purchased and maintained from spring mountain, but it is a race car so anything can happen

@bradspeed114, That is surprising. What chassis number is this and how many hours are on the engine when this happened?

i will find out the chassis number next time im at his shop, the car was recently purched within the last year from spring mountain it was the black and yellow number 14 car, right now it has 34hr.. btw- do you happen to have any spare wheels for sale? i personally just picked up a 2009 sr3 1500 chassis number 407, i would like some spare wheels for it and air jacks, also it has the radical dash and would like to upgrade to the aim

@bradspeed114, yes I looked at the Registry and my notes and realized that the car must be 110 because there aren’t very many 3.0 SR8s at Spring Mountain. I called my friend at Spring Mountain a couple of days ago and he said that he will reach out to the shop that maintains the car and see what can be done to help. No shop is perfect, but I have found Spring Mountain to be excellent and always have them do my engine work.

Regarding your car, when you have some time please post or send me some pictures and details of the car so I can add it to the Registry.

Unfortunately I don’t know of anyone that is currently selling used wheels, but they aren’t too expensive new and all of the dealers should have them in stock. For the aim I would recommend reaching out to Matt @trailbrake.com. He is a Forum member and great guy. You will find him to be very helpful.

@charleyh 101 is the correct car i just spoke to the guys, i told him you reached out to spring mountain and he was very thankful for the help on it. he doesnt want to start any issues with spring mountain at all, things do happen thats just part of cars ( i own a automotive repair shop myself so i see it on a daily bases)

here are a few pictures of the car i just purchased, i am currently in the middle of removing all of the porsche decals (not really my style), i took the car out sunday and had some fun, still need to set it up for me and dial it in but so far i am very happy with it.  i will contact matt about the newer aim setup, my current dash has a few issues from what i can tell, neutral light does not work, and shows i am in 6th gear at all times, would also like to find out what data port i have, pretty sure this car does not have the life software
