Mounting a Garmin Catalyst
Great input, Garrett. For others that may be interested there's a $100 rebate that lasts thru the end of the month. A few more days to decide..
I have only tried it for 1 track day but I’m not getting good GPS coverage. I might need to bring it up closer to the dash. It is very easy to read. I haven’t tried the coaching yet.
I have the adu 5 from ecumaster.. my solution i have 4different pages , laptimer, diagnostic page, street and track page, all designed by my self with live datastream, disgnostics and so on.
I updated the software on the catalyst today and it seemed to resolve my GPS issues. Very impressed so far, just need to figure out how to here the coaching instructions while driving
@cirrusdriver - glad to hear your GPS problems got better. Based on your picture you may need to extend the unit out from under the body work to get a good signal consistently. If nothing else, turn the unit on out of the car and let it soak for 5 minutes before putting it on the mount and that should help a lot.

I think the best thing about the Catalyst is it helps you become more consistent. It identifies when you do something the "best", and tries to get you to do more of that.
I don't think it will replace human coaches in any way, but is a great tool for both coaching and self-coaching.

How difficult was this to install? What wiring harness did you use to connect it to the ECU?
Its connected with a 12v, a ground and CANBUS HIGH and CANBUS LOW wire.. rest is programming
