With the recent discussions about helmets and suits, I'm wondering if anybody is using arm restraints? Seems like they'd be handy during a rollover or wall incident.

Thoughts?

I do - I started because they are required by the groups I run with but now I wear them out of habit. At first I found them annoying, but after getting them adjusted properly they don't bother me and frankly I feel a bit safer. I never want to be in a spot where the car would roll over, but at least my arms are where they belong if something happens.

Seems like a good upgrade to make to the car during its summer refresh.

Garrett -  please post some pics of yours.  I assume these are in addition to the bolsters on the roll hoop braces.  I've also heard that the factory bolsters are not that functional.  Thoughts on that as well.  Thanks.

I use a set like this: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/cws-11574a

My understanding is some people have the arm part sewn into their suit which seems like a good option.

@gwt561324 Mine are sewn into the sleeve of my suit.  One less thing to remember when getting ready to belt in.  Highly recommended.  I have a custom suit so it was an option.

I purchased a set of arm restraints when I bought this car.  However, I have yet to use them.  I do not race, but simply due HPDEs which all require point-by passing.  It is hard enough for people to see me, but I must be able to raise my left arm and point one way or other.  Obviously, this normally only happens on first 1-2 laps of a session (ha...ha).

With COTA being my home track, believe it or not, there are a lot of cars faster than the Radical SR3 there normally.  At other smaller TX tracks like Cresson and Eagles Canyon, I am one of the fastest thus far.
