Yea it used a old style card , I have no card fitted currently but if I did fit one , does it a automatically record? I don’t see any way to turn it on etc

im wondering how good the camera would be as it’s a few years old , in comparison to today’s camera systems ?

The camera is DVD quality: 640x480 in NTSC format, a similar resolution in PAL (which is probably what yours is).
