i'm 5ft 6, quite petite, but even so, the radical seat absolutely dwarfs me. I know it's better to be low and i'm not one to like to sit high - if i want to have my eyeline looking just over the top lip plastic perspex, i have to place 8 inches of high density foam (compresses to 7 inches when i sit on it).

Having that amount of foam means my legs are pretty much level/just over with the sides of the radical seat at the base.

Then i need another 4 inches of foam behind me, for the right reach for pedals/steering.

When i have all that foam sheet placed in this way, i'm in a pretty good position - no need to move pedals/steering column.

I've bought 70 litres of shroth profi bead kit - haven't played around with it yet, but i'm wondering if i should use it in combination with the foam, or polystyrene rigid foam (or some other form of rigid foam, don't know the technical names), so i've effectively got a booster seat first for both height and reach, before then moulding the beads around me - which i'll have to use to create whole new sides of a seat to support my core and legs.

so for anyone else who's short here...what do you do?

@rojid, It is worth doing a search in the Forum for "Bead Seat".  You will find a few good posts showing what people have experienced.  Here is one post that should be helpful.

m roj, Ben Jacobs has a set of pedal extensions that should help out.  They came with his car and he doesn't need them.  You might message him.

I've also seen a few sets at Stradale if he doesn't have his yet.

I am vertically challenged too!!  Luckily the SR3 I purchased already had a bead seat that fit me well.  The bead seat got me high enough to see over the front without using anything to elevate the bottom of the seat.  I also recently purchased an SR10 with the same issue.  Again, we did not need add extra foam to elevate the seat.  I had a professional installer help with the seat so I don't now what size the kit it was.  The kit he used did not set quickly so I could get in and out of the car to add more material under my butt and at my back to make sure I could see and reach the pedals.  FYI, the SR10 is a center seat and I needed the pedal extensions due to the change in position.

thanks, had a look through, gave me a a fair idea of how i might go about this.

I stumbled across a perfect material, High density polyethelene or HDPE, which you can get in sheets.

My mate happened to have some offcuts lying around so i've got plenty to work with.

its super stiff foam, perfect for me to build up an initial seat to get me up to a reasonable height and forward, before i then mould the bead seat around me and give me the core and thigh support i crave.

i'll certainly update this thread when i'm done with my creation!
