Wire-free steering wheel, custom buttons
I just finished this steering wheel upgrade. I wanted control buttons that kept my hands on the wheel instead of searching around on the dash. I ditched the original loom and all the dash switches and replaced them with an Eaton CAN keypad, some Otto P9 momentary switches, and some ECU Master rotary switches. I've got it all working via CAN and an ECU Master PMU. To flash my left blinker, I push the left blue button once, and it flashes the indicator light 3 times. Likewise on the right. Running lights are via the left red button. The right red button is for the R-N-1 clutch safety interlock.
The best part is there's no telephone code connecting the wheel to the car. The wiring goes through the quick-release hub. You just disconnect the wheel and set it aside.
Now I need to find a way to cover up all these holes in my dash. 🙁
Looks fantastic John!
Wow...that is really cool! Nice work!
