Any suggestions on ways to remove the body clams with just one person? Probably a hoist with make shift attachments? I believe they make a crane to remove Jeep soft covers, was thinking of something similar.

The rear clam can be removed, without any additional help or apparatus.

The method goes something as follows:

Stand behind the car and put your hands around the top of the two spoiler uprights.
Lift the spoiler up, and the clam will come off the four pegs at the back.
Now bend your knees to push against the rear of the clam.
Simultaneously pull the spoiler uprights up slightly and back with your arms, and also take the weight of the clam on your knees.
The clam will then rise up the front, and with a bit of heave ho you can lift the whole clam up over the airbox.
At this point you can either pivot 180 or kind of walk it over to a suitable space!

If there is a loom plug needing detached, the clam can be rested slightly before it is fully lifted off.

With regards to the front clam, I've always asked someone for a hand!

I usually get someone to help me, but in a pinch I have removed the nose by myself by taking a strap with hooks on the ends (light duty tie down straps) and hook the straps onto the top two tie down clasps.  Then i pull on that strap from the center and pull back while holding the center of the nose with my other hand.  I don’t really like putting that much force on the closure clasps but it hasn’t been a problem when I can’t find a volunteer.

I tried something similar. Bungee cords hooked around the wheel arches on both sides and pulling up. It worked but I didn’t like how it caused the front clam to bow. I didn’t think of using the front clasps. Maybe front clasps and wheel arches together is spreading out the stress enough, will try it out.

Rear parts is really easy, as explained above, lift it up by the main wingblade, pull bit back, disconnect the loom for lights and. Ready to go. I usually just hold my right hand around the wing and support the backpart with my left hand to lift it up straight
