I made this video about a way to set and verify the pinion depth of SR5 and SR8 gearboxes (the Quaife Q58 and Q72 boxes repackaged by PowerTec). Maybe it will help someone... 🙂
I'm working on the sequel now, about how to set the carrier bearing preload and crown wheel backlash.

Great video John! Out of curiosity, how much tolerance is acceptable on the final dimension?

Thanks Charley. About tolerance for pinion depth, Quaife won't say. It's a bit frustrating, really.
Next is setting up the carrier bearing preload, pattern, and backlash. Hopefully I can get those into tolerance (I got those numbers from Radical, not Quaife).
