SR3XX 1500cc oil cooler spec?
My 2021 SR3XX 1500cc is currently at the shop for engine removal and send off to SM fore rebuild. Can anyone tell me the spec or part number for the engine oil cooler so I can research quickly?
@raider89 did you get an answer to this? I need to source a replacement for my RSX.
Nope, never did. My engine is out at SM for rebuild right now. When I asked dealer for more information about aftermarket vs Radical preferred brand, they said I need to stick with Radical because the input/output fittings are different. Their prices was reasonable compared to what I had looked at on internet, thus did not ask more questions. I will look in the bucket of removed parts to see if old one still there for ID check when I return later today.
@raider89 thanks and per the norm everyone promotes sticking to OE sources. I'm working to remove mine with hopes of not draining the GDU cooling circuit but it looks like I may need to do that in order to remove the right side pod to gain access to remove the engine oil radiator from the mounts.
@gabriel Does the SR3 use a water to oil cooler? If so, then you will probably find what you're looking for here (if you're in the US):
Laminova Oil Cooling | British American Transfer (batinc.net)
I use these for both the engine oil and gear fluid (I've got an SR8).
@meatman @gabriel That's too bad -- fluid to fluid heat transfer is more efficient than fluid to air. Anyway, BAT might still be worth a call, if you're looking for an alternate supplier. I'm sure they can provide a cooler as good as Radical's as the overriding parameter for thermal transfer is surface area, i.e., cooler size.
@raider89 my car had a Setrab unit installed; model SET650F22. Eric@BAT sent me a replacement at a very good price.
