Hi everybody!
hi my name is Markus and I am from the very South-West of Germany,
i started racing quiet late after a professional career in a different sport. After short circuit karting i started to race Superkarts in Div.2 then Div.1 and stopped in 2013. In 2016 i started racing again with my Performer by Elkmann. Unfortunately the owner of the circuit which is closest to my place (Anneau du Rhin in France) decided that the Performer should not be driven there, anymore maybe i was too fast. So i bought a Radical SR3 Supersport with the chassis No.74 from 2003.
I picked it up directely from Wales where it was sold together with a trailer and a lot of parts. We tested the car one time in France and now we are in the process of rebuilding the car. Overall the car feels great but it could have easily 150bhp more.
I hope i can get in touch with some Radical enthusiasts here.
Cheers Markus
Welcome Markus! You have a great looking car, thank you for adding it to the Registry. Regarding horsepower, upgrading to an SR8 will get you almost 200 extra HP. 🙂 There are some amazing deals on SR8’s out there. For example the owner of the Orange 2009 in the “Radicals for sale” section told me that he will take $40,000 for it. That is an amazing deal, even with shipping cost to Germany.
I hope you make some posts showing you progress on your car.

Hi Charley,
thank you! I knew beforehand that a SR3 will not really be as fast as a Superkart Div.1 or my Performer but the maintenance costs for a SR8 are just too high for me. If i ruin the gearbox or the crankcase of a SR8 i would be literally bankrupt.
Cheers

this is really fast!

Yes, there is a big difference in Maintenance cost. The SR3 is a great balance of performance and cost. I have never seen a Performer before. That looks, very interesting. What type of engine does it have?
Charley
The Performer is powered by a GSXR 1000 engine, quiet similar to a SR3 but without a diff and without a suspension. In a way a hybrid between a superkart and a car. It weighs only about 290kg with about 200bhp.

The costs for a brandnew raceready car are less than €30000.-
