Hi guys! Sharing a video from round #5 of Radical Cup Scandinavia. Pretty intense race with 0,5 seconds separating the two cars for 14 laps. There is a spoiler at 15 minutes 40 seconds if anyone wants to see the conclusion...

@acey, That is some great (close) racing!  Too bad that little bump spoiled things.  Thanks for sharing the video.

@acey - great video and a good race until that moment.
Could you tell us what camera you are using for that shot, and show us how you have it mounted to the car?

@CharleyH Thanks! Yeah, unfortunate and deemed as a racing incident, which, well, I'm not too happy about.

@Rjbender It's captured with a GoPro Hero 8, and it just uses the standard Go Pro slide-in mount on top of the hoop. So nothing fancy. However, the media guys that cover Radical Cup Scandinavia have had several Go Pros smashed by stone chips when attached to the car. In fact, the rear screen of the Go Pro mounted on my car was smashed during this race. So be careful.

Here are highlights from last Sunday's race.  I got a little too close to the Porsche in the first corner and locked up.  I finally made up the places at the end!  Enjoy!

Nice racing!  Brilliant save at the beginning.  You showed a lot of patience passing a couple of those cars and that was a nice pass on the gravel down the straight too.

It's strange seeing the classes mixed together like that, but must be a lot of fun.

Thanks, to make up time on the higher horsepower cars I need to go much deeper into corners and take advantage of the downforce with the Radical.  I didn't expect the red Porsche to brake that early.  I have raced with the driver often and he typically doesn't get on the brakes that early.  I didn't think I would recover.  Racing multi class has made me a better driver.  I have to plan my race/passes based on the strengthens/weaknesses of our cars!  Thanks for watching.

@johnannz Loved watching the on track videos. Being a new Radical owner, I can't seem to watch enough videos. 🙂

Your battle with the Red 911 was entertaining. Looks like you have to set that guy up about 3-4 laps before you make your move otherwise he will just motor you out of the corner!

BTW, the pass in the gravel was not my choice 🙂 I was in survival mode!!!

Just watched your video.  I thought you drove very defensive lines and there was nothing the other guy could really do.  He was slightly faster, but not fast enough to get the pass done and you didn't make any mistakes.  It's a shame that he forced the issue at the end and caused your spin.  At least it didn't cost you more than 1 place.

Most weekends I am nose to tail with the Red Porsche.  Most passes need to be set up well before the corner and timing of the pass needs to be near perfect.  If I cannot keep momentum through the corners the Porsche has too much power pulling out of the corners and on the straights.  At times, I will stay close and just try to force a mistake.  I trust the Red Porsche driver to attempt those moves.  A word of caution, many drivers can't see our car because we sit so low so when you are in multi class races you need to be careful (Red Spec Z is great example)

Yeah, it was some hard racing, we had some balance issues on the car which meant the ultimately we didn't have the race pace that we wanted (still managed the fastest lap and pole position for race 2). But I'm not really a fan of bumping people off. Judges said it was a "racing incident" which I guess I have to accept. But just such a shame since it was hard (but fair) up to that point.
