Hi fellow Gen 1 SR3 owners and anyone else reading this post 🙂 I’m converting from Carb to Fuel Injection and I’m wondering if someone with a Gen 1 SR3 could shoot me a picture of where their fuel pressure regulator is mounted and also where their barometric sensor mounts. Thanks so much! Charley sent a pic of his Gen 2 but they use a different regulator.

@crit my earlier car (376) is a Gen 1 with the Life Racing ECU mounted behind the metal plate on the engine firewall (same place as the MBE usually was)... From memory I'm pretty sure the Baro sensor is mounted right next to the ECU behind the same plate on the firewall... I can't take a picture at the moment as it's at the workshop (about 100 miles from home) but I'll be going next week and can take one then... The fuel pressure regulator I'm pretty sure is in the same location as my later RS (gen 2) car but I'll check that too.

@nick02 Hi Nikki, Since your gen 1 has a life ECU, it might have the updated pressure regulator. Here's the pressure regulator that I'm planning on installing, it came off a Gen 1 1500 CC with the MBE ECU. I'm just not sure of the best mounting location.

Hi,

The pressure reg like you have pictured would have sat on the outside of the chassis just before the return pipe went ‘inside’ towards the pump. Barometric sensor on early cars is on rear bulkhead near ECU.

@smiffy931, Hi Josh! Thanks for the reply. I had been wondering about the mounting especially since the regulator barbs are 90 degrees offset. That makes since that it  would be mounted in the side pod outside the chassis as the fuel line has to turn 90 degrees to go to the pump.

I didn't have time to take pics of the fuel pressure regulator today but the car is on track tomorrow... I'll try to take some then.

I found a pic online how the fuel pressure regulator is mounted. I almost hooked it up wrong, I found a diagram on how to hook it up. I thought the bottom port went to the fuel rail, it’s actually the side port.
