I order it on the Internet and have it delivered.  Radical recommends Neo Synthetic gear oil.

I use the Neo too. I get it from C&R Racing in North Carolina.

Hi all

a well regarded Race mechanic I know thinks 75w-140 would be better in our gearboxes??

he normally works on Ferrari’s ect but is very familiar with Quaife gearboxes and says the crown wheel and pinion get excessive wear with 75-90? He’s not talking brands (well he did, I’m not) just oil weight

anyone had any experience?

(am in australia so anything under 15c ambient is unlikely, but 30c + is likely)

Interested in thoughts and feedback

thanks

jase

Hi Jase, welcome to the Radical Forum!.  I am not an oil expert, but I have talked with the Technical Director at Radical (who is a really nice guy) and he told me that the have done a lot of testing with gear oil over the years and they have not found anything that performs as well as the Neo in the recommended weight. So I would strongly recommend using what Radical recommends.  Also, it is important to get the SR8 gearboxes up to temperature so it is worth following the procedure outlined in the owners manual.

Your welcome.  Congratulations on the new car.  If you send me some pictures and info on the car I can add it to the Registry for you.
