Ramp truck for radical
with a 16ft straight wedge bed, 11ft ramps and maybe even 11ft race ramps this should be fine right 😉
gotta be creative with HOA restrictions
You should be able to make that work. You need a ramp angle of less than 3 degrees. The only downside of an open trailer is if you need to stay overnight on the road, you don’t get the same level of security as an enclosed trailer.
I love that. I thought about getting something like that as well (like the flatbeds Carvana uses) because our HOA doesn't allow trailers either. However, my garage is down a hill from the driveway so you can't see it from the street and there's only one neighbor I have to worry about but they haven't complained yet.
I think if I had an enclosed trailer I would be pushing my luck.
Yeah I like the aluma open with the front piece. I was going to put a trailer in the garage just barely fitting but only a 7ft wide trailer would fit and that’s just too little clearance for the radical. This is an 16x8ft bed so no issues. I’m likely only having it overnight at the track so less worried.
I am pretty sure I won't be able to sneak our race trailer past the HOA!

Trailer envy!
I have a 34ft bumper bull and I would love to have a goosie instead.
are you Smokey or the Bandit?
Update. Got a different ramp truck with aluminum bed and crew cab. First weekend down and loading unloading was a breeze
Hello Everyone,
I have been thinking about converting a UHAUL truck to a radical carrier.
The 17ft truck fits the radical just fine and sidewall can be used for shelves storage and so is the space over the cab. I was thinking of a RAIL STYLE LIFT GATE in the back with an extended ramp.
Used Haul trucks are usually inexpensive and the BOX is great quality and really low to the ground ..
If anyone has seen one of these or has any experience and or ideas .. please share.
Thank you
@gabuny, I would think it is possible but how much will it cost to add a lift gate? May be better in the long run to get a trailer? I saw a guy at the track a long time ago that used one of these trucks to haul his non-Radical race car. He would drive up the steep ramps and then used a tall farm jack to lift up the back of the ramps to level and then drove the car in. It worked but was scary to watch. It would work much better with a lift gate as you mentioned
If you are going to convert something, look into a rollback / flatbed truck like below. They are not common in the USA, but they have been done inexpensively.
