Anyone have a recommendation on a good brand of tie down ratchet straps? So many out there.
I will be using the hub tie down locations. Thanks!
Hard to go wrong with Macs; I have a set of Macs and they are great, however I recently purchased two sets of over-the-tire straps from Autohauler Supply. Service and quality is outstanding, as well as greater variety than Macs. In fact, they will custom make anything you want if it is not listed on their site. Prices are lower but quality is as good in my opinion.
This set is very nice:
They have a low profile rubber grip-sleeve which I have found nowhere else.
Also a low profile idler which positions the strap sufficiently low to clear the front diffuser on a Radical.
If you have e-track on the deck of your trailer, this is a nice option for tying down a race car because it puts all of the strap tension over the tire and not on any suspension component.
This is an example of straps that would work well with the hub pins:
Not shilling for them, but I like their straps. Only $22.95 for the strap with ratchet above!
In the big scheme of things, even expensive straps are inexpensive compared to say a set of race tires that are good for one race day. So get the ones you like best and the highest quality which will last many years.
