I was considering upgrading my SR 3XX stock 280mm rotors to 310mm rotors.  That would also require brake caliper upgrade.  Wilwood has a solution for this that will fit a Radical
I was curious if anyone has done this and if it provides noticeable improved braking and cooling?

Also am I correct in assuming this would make the car not eligible for Radical sponsored race series?

Thanks!

Hi Ron, I strongly suggest you do not do this. For starters you are no longer eligible for any Radical series around the world as the car is not in factory spec anymore. With that, the SR3 already has pretty big brakes on it for the power, aero, tire etc. Adding the big SR10 brake package is going to do very little to possibly nothing. Even with the SR10 it didnt really change the braking power or distance, it was really done for brake temperature and ensuring reliability of not over heating the brakes.

@schneller Interesting. Just to make sure I'm following correctly: Wilwood makes a bolt-on setup that fits a Radical? Do you mind sharing your part numbers?

@schneller, I have always found the standard floating rotors to be excellent, but if you would like an upgrade I would consider the new optional brake upgrade that Radical is offering.  I have heard very good things about it.  That way you car stays legal for the Radical series.

@parsonsj

Dont mind at all.  Here you go.  Let me know what you think.

wilwood caliper 120-9691

wilwood rotor 160-16027-B

I was also going to switch out my stock uprights to the cnc uprights manufactured by Bliss Racing at the same time.

@schneller Gotcha! I'm with ya now. Hans make a super nice kit that allows you to use Willwood brakes. Otherwise you'll have to stick with Radical offerings.

@meatman Hi Josh -- Hans has posted his kit with photos here several times. Here's a link to an Instagram photo of his billet upright for Radicals:
