The subject of Registry members wanting to know if they have "Standard Axles" or "Heavy duty Ales" on their car has come up several times lately, so I thought it was worth making a post about it.

Radical has offered Standard axles and Heavy Duty Axles.  You can tell which axles you have by doing a visual inspection.  The Standard axles have black universal joints on each end that are cylindrical in shape while the Heavy duty axles have silver universal joints at each end of the axel.

Here are some pictures of Heavy Duty Axles:

HD Drive shafts
563 HD axles 2
563 HD axles

And here are some pictures of the Standard axles:

If you have the standard axles you can change the axle, or tripod universal joints individually, however, if you have the HD axles they are sold as one complete axle unit which includes the tripods and axle.

I hope this is helpful.
