A friend of mine is having fuel delivery issues with his 2018 SR3 1340. Engine cuts out during cornering. He has changed out the fuel pump a few times and it has not solved the issue. Has anyone heard of this issue with newer cars? Any potential solutions? Thanks.
Do you have any data-logging? It would be good to confirm that fuel pressure drops during lateral g-force before swapping parts.
Data shows that the fuel pressure is solid. He has also replaced the fuel pressure regulator three times. There is something that resembles a fuel pump zip tied to the frame rail. Is that the regulator or another pump?
@ntf3000, Do you know what type of fuel tank his car has? It will either be an aluminum tank or a fuel cell. Also, Do you know when the situation is happening? Is it happening on left hand corners, right hand corners, high G cornering, long corners, Is is happening at low fuel levels or full?
Any information that you can provide will be helpful in trouble shooting. It is strange that the fuel pressure is consistent because that seems to make fuel starvation being less likely.
