I used a pair of large pipegrips on outer shaft but had to machine 36mm 12sided socket to fit centre nut clearance .. also used 2 grub screws (allen key ) that locks against the flats of nut to save it slackening .. but this was an upgrade on shaft think from 2012 ?? ill recheck sizes in morning
Alrighty.... all done and ready to drop it in in the the next couple days!
Getting along.....
But what is this doo Hickey for?
@meatman that is the clamp for the balance weight shaft, should be installed on the front of the engine.
Balance weights are not used but the shaft has the oil feed blocked and this clamped installed as standard.
You would have a large hole in your engine if this is not in!
Oh crap.... I'm.working in it right now....
What the heck in a balance weight shaft? LOL
I see it!?
What the heck does that do? 🧐
Thanks for all your help Dan and others. I'll try to pass on any knowledge and help to others as well. 👍
@meatman as long as you don't have the balance weight in there and its just the shaft (with oil feed blocked off) then you need to refit that part, otherwise the shaft will come out and cause a big oil leak. If balance weight is in then it needs to be in a certain position.
Undo the 2 5mm headed allen key bolts and then crack off the 14mm oil feed bolt, the pipe will them drop and allow you to install that part. Make sure the o-ring is in place when you reinstall the pipe.
Agreed, no balance weight.
You should just be able to bolt it in place as detailed above, this will just hold it in place.
JUST cant c it ??? enlarge please
