Very cool project!!!

Looks like it’s all coming together 👍

I have seen those original type straight spoke Image wheels break before (the rear centres). You may want to consider using different wheels seeing as you are now putting quite a lot more power through them 🤷‍♂️ The later type Image centres should be ok, or either the BBS rims or one piece wheels.

hey alex! Thanks for your input. But for what reason did they break ? Cant imagine they just fall apart due to accelration or power. In a crash yes, hitting curbs will surely damage the rim.

problem is that one piece wheels are EXTREMELY heavy compared.
Wheels like this on picture felt like 2x the weight of the 3piece.

i was thinking of spare set wheels with race slicks on the new generation rads. Are they BBS?

half car is now painted. Steeringwheel also finnished with tractioncontrol and boost pressure adjustment .

color is a really nice deep bronze/gun metal grey with s lot of metallic effect. Looks insane in sun, dark/black in dawn.

front diffuser that was all damaged after TNT managed to break it all up, is now saved and reinforced.  Im rebuilding my street/tracksport front part to fit highdownforce supersport diffusor. Found out they basicly are the same except that front lip had to go off

Hi Robert. I believe they failed without any contact or anything like that. The car I saw one fail on was being raced, I’m trying to get a picture of it from the guy running the car at the time.

I think Image made a stronger centre because these ones were failing 🤷‍♂️ Might be a good question for the “Ask Phil” section @charleyhradicalsportscarregistry-com

I’m not sure about the one piece wheels you have on the other car, they do look quite heavy. The normal radical one piece wheels that you’ll see on any new car are very close to the same weight as the stronger Image wheels. BBS which are 3-piece are lighter, maybe similar weight to your current Image wheels.

This is the BBS wheel (centre normally gold)

This is the Radical one piece wheel (nothing to do with BBS)

I have yet to get the picture of the broken rim, will post it as soon as I do.

Ok! So lets just go extreme here! Im really fed up with taking off the whole rear part incl. Wing, lights  and so on. Damages my backpart, weakening the glassfiber and making cracks all over.

So i really love the new gen concept!  So much better this way! measured out with compass and GPS hahah.. and hit the cutter!

@lunatic, have you finished the modifications to the rear bodywork?  I'm curious how you fasten the rear joint of the two pieces and how it all worked out.

Just asking for a friend as I really enjoy needing to find someone to help with the rear section on my RS all the time.  😜

Anyone know what the  rear bodywork section costs?

Really nice project.  Thanks for posting progress for the rest of us.

I'm interested in this notion as well. My wife is my crew and awesome and everything, but every now and then (just to keep me off-guard, I suspect) she gets cranky when I need help pulling panels.

Ok, some more updates!

i dont know what they were thinking, but something is very off  when you need to grind down your brakepads to make them fit from

factory.

honda NSR125cc motorcycle rear brakepads are the same that fit handbrake calipers. Except i made a spacer between to make more room for the oem pads to fit perfect. Slight mod to brake pads only. Here is the oem worn out, and new ones, and new modified

next up is the rear part. Comming nicely together. One part is paintet, and the last part with wing and all that need some big modification to fit new diffusor and for a better look without that old licenseplate holder that was before. Now will be mounted alu mesh, just like the radical rxc has.

All new light harness in front and rear, all LED now, and cutting the front for some louvres

@joep what lights? The front one?

its a LED stripe. The usual ebay crap froM china, but it works well… so far🤣

rear lamps are LED with multifunction, so i have blinker, tail and brake in each.

waiting for last parts to be painted now! Looks mad!
