You need to trace the plug from the motor and unplug that. Worse case the system should have a safety and the valve on the tank should release air pressure should the compressor keep running.

@charleyhradicalsportscarregistry-com its an earlier Gen 1 engine so it has a 4 dog gearbox and the later Gen 2 5 dog HD gears do not fit!
