I'm not sure this is the right sub-forum, but I'm wondering if others with RS bodied SR3/SR8s have brake duct rubbing issues?

John I have a 2014 and don't believe there are any.  I did however have an issue with the inlets when the car was delivered.  They moved around a lot which could have resulted in an excess of duct length and possibly rubbing.  I zip tied them in place.

Can you post pictures of where they are rubbing?

I meant to do that in my original post -- sorry! This should help explain my question.

@parsonsj

Hi John, my car didn't have that problem.  Here are a few shots that may be helpful.  If I remember correctly don't both of your cars (chassis 87 and 42) have the lightweight three piece wheels?  I wonder if they are wider or have a different offset??  Or looking closely at the pictures I wonder if your ducts are less flexible and perhaps slightly larger?  They appear to take a straighter path then mine??

This is car #87, and it was running the 3 pc BBS wheels, and they were rubbing.

My photos above are with new 1 piece wheels. Part of my concern is that I don't want to scuff the inside of the wheel in the first lap!

Anyway, your duct hose looks a lot more flexible that what's on my car, and I wonder if that's the problem. I've got some new hose coming now -- will be here Tuesday.

While I had some gearbox controller / ECU integration issues, I took #87 to Sebring and ran a few laps -- a couple at speed even. The best news is that the new brake ducts worked without rubbing. I think my old ones were too short and inflexible.

I looked at the Pegasus Racing site and they listed silicon ducts hose (rated at 550* F) at around $30 / foot, and I wanted 10 feet. Seemed expensive, so I checked for similar hose at McMaster-Carr, and I think I found the exact same hose for about $10 / foot. I had to repair the right side duct receiver (with an aluminum insert and new rivets), but the repair was pretty simple.

Here are some pics:
