Embarrassing question ahead.....Is there a trick to removing the exhaust springs? Seems like i have to yank on them awfully hard to move them.

Thanks,

L

Do you mean the springs that hold the header collector together?

I'm hoping you can see this photo. The springs attach the headers to the collector and then the muffler. Any tips appreciated. Now that I stare at the picture, you probably just compress the spring, right?

I normally just use a heavy gauge piece of wire through one of the ends of the spring.  Pull that to stretch the spring out enough to pull over the end of the hook. You may have to push the two pieces together a little more to bring the ends closer together.

The same method is used to put it back together.

I just use needlenose pliers to compress the spring from both ends. As you do that you can pull on either one of the ends from under the hook.
