Hello all and thanks for having me. Just purchased sr3 number 401 for a track day/DE weapon. Have been tracking a 991.1 GT3 and it is great but tires and brakes are expensive!
I've got one 5 session day at Road Atlanta and I was very impressed with the car. I have to grow a pair to use the AERO this car has. I was quite a bit quicker, on the first day, than the GT3. Looking forward to next full track weekend.
Welcome Rich! I am looking forward to following your progress with the car. The best way I found to "re-calibrate" your brain to having the Aero is to use the Aim Data. Between sessions I would make a color map showing the G's through each corner and that helped convince my brain that the car was capable of going faster... Once your brain is convinced the next step is to get your right foot to do what your brain tells it. 😆
Here is an example of a color map... where you can see that I could have been going faster

That could work too 🤣
Welcome to the forum and Radicals. I got my SR3 June 1st and have done 4 track days so far. I came from a C5 and driving a high downforce car is quite a change. I live in Alabama and frequent Road Atlanta, AMP, Barber and VIR. It’s been a couple of years since I’ve been to Roebling. Would like to meet up and do an event together.
I'll be at Road Atlanta September 21 and 22 with PCA and Barber October 19, 20 with Pca Alabama. Love to see you there and learn something.
Have not driven with PCA. Anything specific with our cars regarding tech inspection. Friend of mine said they may require harness to be ‘in date’. My daughter is expecting in late September so I’m interested registering for the the Barber event.
Rich, a delayed welcome! I've been incarcerated working in Alaska for the past 4 weeks.
I'm down in Central Florida and am always looking to hang out with fellow Radical owners. I'll be out at Sebring in December, and am hoping to get to VIR or Road Atlanta next year.
I too came from Corvettes, and found getting the art of trusting the aero a challenge. I used to be the slowest SR8 guy on the planet, but I've improved a lot since then. I use Charley's method of a "data-driven" approach, and a meter-by-meter method of delaying braking. That's gotten me from waving everybody by to having the corner workers blue-flagging cars in front of me as I catch them. GT3s are my favorite car to pass. 🙂
