Crank sensor or wiring from it to the ECU. Look in other channels, see if there are dips, maybe the ECU is cutting out. But my bet is the crank sensor/circuit.

On the helmet lifting, I found that the Stilo helmet solved that problem for me. I had significant problems wit that before, and the Stilo fixed me right up. Oh, and welcome to the site!
