@meatman that is the clamp for the balance weight shaft, should be installed on the front of the engine. Balance weights are not used but the shaft has the oil feed blocked and this clamped installed ...

I don't think there is a trick. The owner's manual says it should be no closer than 2mm from the brake disc bolts. I installed one and I may have put it a little closer than that and it works well.
